Discover the Natural Beauty of Lukavica
Lukavica is located in the northeastern part of the Nikšić municipality, in the central region of Montenegro, known for its natural beauty. This area, with around 365 springs, diverse flora, and fauna, is one of the significant botanical habitats in Europe. Marked trails are ideal for mountain bikers and recreational hikers. The surreal beauty of this region is highlighted by Mali and Veliki žurim, as well as Kapetanovo Lake.
Kapetanovo Lake
Kapetanovo Lake is situated at an altitude of 1,678 meters, near the border with the Kolašin municipality. This glacial lake is known for its natural beauty, rich aquatic life, and clear green waters. It was named after Captain Mušović, who was present and fought in this area during the Turkish rule.
Mali and Veliki Žurim
Mali žurim (1,962 m) and Veliki žurim (2,036 m) are part of the Moračke mountains massif, approximately one kilometer apart. These peaks represent a natural boundary between the rocky and green valleys. The ascent to Mali žurim starts easier but ends with a vertical rock face, while Veliki žurim has a gentle slope and a meadow full of blueberries.
