Breathtaking Landscapes
Ropojana Valley is one of the most beautiful natural treasures of the Plav-Gusinje region. Located on the northern side of Prokletije, the valley offers breathtaking landscapes and magical glacial beauty that captivates every visitor. The high, jagged mountain walls create a spectacular sight.
Historical Path
The former caravan route, which connected Shkodër and Peć until the early 20th century, passed through this valley, adding to its rich history.
Natural Beauties
At the beginning of the route, the Vruja and Grlja rivers flow through the valley, providing serene and picturesque scenes of nature. Passing through the hamlet of Ćosovići, the view opens up to the proper path towards Vusanje, with the landscape becoming increasingly enchanting.
Near the tranquil village of Vusanje are the impressive Grlja waterfalls. The waterfall is visible only when approaching the edge of the meadow, and the view of this natural phenomenon is breathtaking. Continuing through the valley, one reaches the Oko Skakavice spring, a deep and crystal-clear source from which the icy waters of Skakavica emerge. This spring is one of the strongest in Prokletije, and its beauty is captivating.
The ascent through the valley leads to a resting spot with a wooden canopy, offering a splendid view of the famous peaks of the Montenegrin Prokletije: Karanfili, Vezirova brada, and Beljan. The valley narrows further, revealing spectacular landscapes all the way to Ropojansko Lake, which is located at the end of the valley, on the border with Albania.
Trail to Maja Jezerce and Glacial Lakes
Ropojana Valley also features a popular trail leading to the highest peak of Prokletije, Maja Jezerce, as well as to the glacial lakes known as Buni and Jezerce. These lakes are located within Albanian territory.

Ropojana Valley is a true jewel of the natural beauties of this region and guarantees an unforgettable experience for every visitor. Without a visit to Ropojana, a stay in the enchanting world of Prokletije would not be complete.
